This week, we’re proud to highlight fine art model Mighty Earthling.

Mighty Earthling lists mountain biking, climbing, parkour, and Jiu-Jitsu among the disciplines she practices outside of modeling. These are not biographical footnotes. They are physical capacities expressed in her work. We see it when she suspends herself between two mossy tree trunks, folds into a sharp geometric shape on a studio floor, or tucks herself into a pocket of rock as if the rock were made for her.

Mighty Earthling writes that she is drawn to documentary and narrative filmmaking, acting, and painting. Those sensibilities are present in her modeling portfolio. A photograph is a single frame, but her works tend to imply something before and something after. The images appear to come from a creator who thinks in scenes.

Mighty Earthling has years of experience on both sides of the camera. She considers the light, she composes the frame, and she is also the subject. When she then steps into another artist’s studio or another photographer’s landscape, she carries that authorship with her. You can feel it in how she fills a frame, even when she is not the one shooting it.
